Effect of Synthetic Pregelatinized Starch-Modified C-S-H Particles on the Chemical Structure of C-A-S-H Generated from GGBS

Finding new agents to enhance the strength of alkali-activated (ground granulated blast furnace slag) GGBS is beneficial for environmental protection. Here, we reveal effect pregelatinized starch-modifying calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) particles on nanostructure tailoring NaOH-activated hydrates. The results show that, synthetic modified C-S-H, starch absorbs surface which modifies chains and crystal structure. Adding starch-modified C-S-H can tailor chemical structure silicaluminate (C-A-S-H) formed from hydration by increasing mean chain length (MCL) decreasing Al/Si ratios. When adding 0.1% starch, MCL C-A-S-H increased 344.5% ratio decreased 16.0%. compressive samples be enhanced particles, while addition does not significantly affect flexural strength. high hardened blocks hydrated related long chains.
